A gorgeous swimming hole perfect for fishing or relaxing in the sun on the rocks. Bring your camera and cooler!
Remember: It is not advisable for children to swim without adult supervision. We want everyone to stay safe.

Went for a day trip, will be back for camping. Lots of sites right on the water. Awesome swimming holes. Great camp hosts

Beautiful, well-maintained site, close to town. The owner was especially friendly and accommodating. Only negative point would be the bridge on one end of the site, which seems to have constant traffic. Bring earplugs for sure, but otherwise enjoy the site

We went tubing at FRO and straight into our group campsite under the bridge after. The location is perfect and everything I was looking for.
We had no cell service (the goal was to keep everyone off their phones), plenty of room for our vehicles + 6 tents + 1 hammock + stand up grill and firewood available for purchase on site.
The showers, bathroom and sink for dishes were EXTREMELY helpful.

If you are looking for a high end place that cost a ton, then this place isn’t for you, but if you want a to sleep by a beautiful stream with birds chirping and a little touch of Mother Nature , all at a very reasonable cost, then this should be your home.

From the DC metro area:
Take I-66 West to Exit 13 (Linden). Turn left off the ramp, then right at the traffic light. Continue through Front Royal until the road ends, then turn left. Follow signs for Camping 2, turn left at the bottom of the hill, and the entrance will be just before the Gooney Creek bridge.
Once you turn onto this road, immediately make a left at the Gooney Creek Campground sign. Drive under the bridge — you will see the office straight ahead.

Yes, we allow pets. They must be on a leash at all times, and we ask that you clean up after them. Pets may not be left unattended. If you are leaving the campground they must go with you.
Yes, select sites offer 20-amp electric.
Yes, fire pits are provided (weather permitting).
